Quiet Dignity
Quiet Dignity “… poems hide. In the bottoms of our shoes, they are sleeping." - Naomi Shihab Nye. Maybe poems are formed on the soles of shoes, the miles we walk, our stop and notice. The baby in WalMart, tired beyond reach, wanted to be picked up, spoke the language of fuss and flop; poetry of peek-a-boo, elegance of point-and-notice, a novel face, a new voice. Oh. I see you. Quiet dignity of trod and trample rhythm of chores, rhyme of routine. Sonnets of sighs, odd day odes, sestinas of naps and rest. -Mary Louise Peters
✨Love & Light for Today:
“I believe that magic is art, and that art... is literally magic. Art is, like magic, the science of manipulating symbols, words or images, to achieve changes in consciousness... Indeed, to cast a spell is simply to spell, to manipulate words, to change people’s consciousness, and this is why I believe that an artist or writer is the closest thing in the contemporary world to a shaman. - Alan Moore
Where is your consciousness alive?
Where are you finding magic?
