Raspberry Rhapsody
Raspberry Rhapsody
I wondered, who extracted this red pincushion of a berry from within the razor wire prison of a bush, who picks enough that I might carry a treasure chest of rubies from the grocery store to grace my small granola mountain, snow capped with yogurt, with these precious drupelets?
Then, I thought of the Grand Engineer whose design is perfect: a globe of fleshy seeds together, whose plan ensures germination of at least one, no need to count out three seeds from an envelope, place in an anthill of soil, hoping one will sprout, and every raspberry is its own cup, a starter kit, you supply a few drops of rain. And should seedlings fail, the canes are ever ready to start a new.
What can we learn from the raspberry,
her blossoms and canes, her crowning thorns, her velvet, her juices? Small lessons in pain and pleasure, a syllabus of redundancy, efficiency.

✨Love & Light for Today:
All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love’s sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
-Swami Vivekananda
How are you experiencing the expansion of self-compassion?
How would you name the “laws of life”?
