Without Forethought
Without Forethought
What was given
was gift not prescience,
orchids pinned.
A presence of mind
that noticed, recognized,
invited;
a way of being
that attracted being seen
into wholeness,
a gift of graciousness
that granted pause;
a temporal distortion
wrapped around,
like velvet curtains,
shrouded shoulders.
A togetherness
was created,
closed a circle
just two, close-in,
twoness that was one,
that first newness
newly found,
explored, discovered.
Now familiar.
